* God calls us into fellowship with him (Rev 3:20)
* We belong to God, we are his people (1 Peter 2:9-10)
* To be a friend of God, we must abstain from the evils of the world.
* Being a friend of the world makes you an enemy of God (James 4:4)
* The things of the world edify the flesh and do not bring glory to God.
* The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life are things that the world offers. (1 John 2: 15-16)
* If you indulge in the things that edify your flesh, by partaking in or chasing after the things that the world gives, this makes you an enemy of God.
* God does not tempt us, but the desires of our hearts draw us away from God. (James 1:13)
* We cannot serve two masters, we must serve God wholeheartedly. (Matthew 6:24, Revelation 3:16)
* God is a jealous God and we should not give glory to any other but Him. (Deut 4:23-24)
* The flesh and spirit are constantly at war; dwelling on the things of the Spirit empowers the spirit and dwelling on the things of the flesh empowers the flesh (Gal 5:17).
* Jesus is our only savior, the only one who deserves our worship, we are not enslaved to anyone (1 Cor 7:23)
* We should fix our eyes on Jesus and not be enslaved by trying to please men (Gal 5:1).
* Let us not be lukewarm but give our all to God (Rev 3: 14-22)
