In a time like this when the world powers boast of their arsenals including nuclear weapons, a time when countries feel they have total control of economies, research and health among other things – the entire world is brought to a total shut down by a virus. This evidently looks like a plague/pestilence described by the most relevant book in the world: The Holy Bible. Please refer to my previous message titled “come back home”. We pray that the hand of God for healing comes upon all that is afflicted right now in Jesus name.
As the children of God, what do we do in a time like this? What do you do?
Don’t panic! Isaiah 43:1-2
From the 1st verse of this passage, God has redeemed you already to himself and He is telling you to fear not! The root word for redeem in Hebrew is “padah” – to redeem OR “ga’al” – to deliver/redeem. God has already delivered you and bought you over to Himself. This is why He is telling you to fear not because you belong to Him. As a matter of fact, there are 365 “fear nots” in the bible – one for each day. How did he redeem you? He redeemed you through the blood of the lamb! Jesus Christ! The bible says we have redemption in him through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace Ephe 1:7, John 15:13 there is no greater love than that a man lay down his life for his friends – you belong to God and you have no reason to fear. In the second verse, He says when you pass through water, He will be with you…no matter what’s going on now, always know that God is with you – even in the midst of this plague! through fire, He said you wont be burned – no evil or disease can come near you. He is always with you because He redeemed you: you belong to Him and what that means is that whatever happens in the world does not determine your fate – God does! IPet 2:9
Spend time feeding on God’s word! You are always covered and protected in His word
Let’s read Psalm 91
This bible passage says it all in its 16 verses BUT one word occurred about two to three times especially in verse 1 and verse 9 – dwell/dwelling. One of the ways to dwell in God continuously is to keep spending time feeding on His word. Jesus said in John 6:63b the words that I speak to you are spirit and life…to stay alive, stay in the word!
Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light to my path – the word of God is able to light your path and make you walk freely even in the midst of chaos – it gives you direction.
Psalm 119:130 the entrance of Your word brings light, it gives understanding to the simple: there’s so much darkness in the world, the word of God is able to light your world even in the midst of the darkness. The word of God is able to make you navigate every issue of life without stress…dwell in His word
